Wisdom Teeth Consultation

#1 Post by AntWalkerCook »

Hey everyone,

I've got a consultation with my surgeon and head orthodontist at my next appointment on the 12th August. Is there any questions that you asked during your appointments that you found provided good answers? Or, more simply, what questions/ answers do you think I need to know?

Obviously recovery time, but is there anything else? Anything will be welcome!! :D

I'd ask if you could get an advance prescription for at least some of your pain meds if they plan on prescribing some; nothing is less fun than getting stuck in line at the Pharmacy while the anesthetic and/or pain meds they've given you wear off. Been there, done that, got the proverbial t-shirt. Never again.

Are they impacted or have they erupted? Reason I ask is if they have to start digging around for them; you'll probably want the pain meds. If they've erupted, speaking from experience, I only needed a little ibuprofen. Impacted you may need something better than regular pain relievers; even if its only for a couple days. Follow your Dr's instructions too.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

Honestly, I couldn't say. They're being taken out for orthognathic surgery. I will ask at my appointment, thanks :D
