Here we go again...
Hi. I'm from the UK. This week I got braces to address various issues with my bite. It's not the first time for me, as I had a treatment as a teenager, as well as aligners a couple of years ago. The aligners neatened up my top teeth a bit, but didn't really do much for the deep bite I have. Recently, I got problems where I was biting into the guine, and so it was suggested that I really needed to get the bite sorted out. I've just got ceramic braces fitted to my lower teeth. I was also given a bite plate to wear at night. The fixed braces seem ok so far. The bite plate isn't fun, and speaking is not easy. I'm not happy to be doing this at my age (nearly a very significant birthday) but it seems plenty of you out there are getting on with it. Here's a couple of pictures taken of my first week. My molars aren't crazy massive - they've built them up with composite to give the bottom brackets some clearance and not hit the backs of the top teeth! The dark coloured incisor in the top arch is root- filled. I think that's why it has discoloured. I'll probably get that veneered when I get to the end of this saga.

First appointment since the brace. And a wire change. Apparently this wire is an '18'. Thicker maybe?
I'm sure these white archwires work for some people, but I reckon that I'd be better off with some kind of grey/yellow combo. Seriously, this new wire is neon-white, like only Simon Cowell's teeth. I'd never considered whitening before, but now I'm getting paranoid. Either that or I'll just ask for a silver wire next change.
