Suction between teeth

#1 Post by anacsilva »

Hello!

This may seem like a really stupid question but please take this doubt off my mind!

I have a friend who used to have a gap between her fro t teeth, but it closed because she kept creating suction between them with her tongue.

Right now, my dentist placed a springer on my braces to open gaps between three of my teeth so that the middle tooth has enough space to rotate and straighten.

However, I keep creating saliva between the new gaps I have (which are not that big) and so I create suction with my tongue to clean it constantly.

Will this possibly slow down the creation of the gaps I need? Is it counter productive?

Thank you (and I'm sorry for such a stupid question)

Top braces (full): ...... it was supposed to be a month later
Bottom braces: probably never, at this speed!

It's not a stupid question but it is an interesting one! I cannot imagine anyone (well, maybe Superman or Wonder Woman) who could create a constant, strong vacuum between two teeth in such a manner to bring them into alignment on a horizontal plane. I create temporary suction between my teeth sometimes to dislodge some morsel, and based on my understanding of things, you have nothing to worry about.
