Headgear not hurting?

#1 Post by LongJourney »

Hey guys, this might be a dumb question but bare with me..

So I had headgear for about 3-4 months now and to be honest I never really wore it that much. First two months I wore it for a week and then quit. Didn't wear it all during my vacation... I know I'm a bad patient.
So at my last adjustment, July 7, he told me to wear it more often and fixed it for me because I had a hard time getting it off at night.

So I've been wearing it more this month, and my elastic a too, the triangle and also the Box one in my front two teeth. I've been wearing this one for about two months. So anyways I didn't wear my headgear for about a week and half and then today I wore it and surprisingly there's no pain... There's always been a little pain when I wore it, with my back molars but today.. There's nothing. Which is strange... Am I just being paranoid or does my ortho need to use more force???
Sorry.. I know it's a stupid question

You should call your ortho to make sure. But as of right now, I think you're overreacting. Don't worry, I was the same way too lol. Good luck

Just because it's not hurting doesn't mean it's not working!
Trust your orthodontist, but definitely ask him about it. He'll be happy to explain it to you.
