Elastics causing gaps?

#1 Post by Geostrophic »

Hey, everyone. I'm about 9 months in now. Got my first elastics a little over 3 weeks ago. The one on my right is a triangle configuration: canine and first pre-molar on the top connected to first premolar on the bottom.

I'd noticed floss going between my first and 2nd pre-molars on the top much easier in recent days - and when I look, it appears as though a gap has opened up there. Anyone else see this happen to them?

I think the gap is a temporary one. Th braces are creating place to allow your teeth to move back in my opinion.
Do you know why you are wearing these elastics?

Certain brackets have hooks where the elastics are stretched in various ways.
