Hey guys
So it's been 3 months since my double jaw surgery to correct open\overbite
here is what it was http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... 15&t=51073
I have two questions I wonder someone with the experience can opine:
1. The feeling on my chin has just started to come back but still quite numb - I can only feel my beard tickling when I pass my hand - I guess I only have to be patient for a bit more? Was expecting to come back faster. Still so weird
2. Chewing with my front teeth still sore, feels weak. Yesterday I went to bite just an inocent popsicle and I coudln't, can't really bit chocolates unless they are really soft. Is this normal for 3 months? Is the pain in my front teeth to do with the surgery or just the fact the I never really used my front teeth before? It feels weird and I'm scared of biting to hard. It is still quite far away to my next doctor appointment too.
Thanks heaps

That's all totally normal. Numbness and strange pains related to the manipulation of your nerves during the surgery can last for a year or two (or even be permanent). Soreness in your teeth could be related to your braces tho and they may come and go over time for several more months, maybe until your get them off and even a little longer after that. Buckle down for the long haul!

Thought so! Still can't quite bite too hard in the front teeth but as you said, buckle for the long haul. I don't have braces tho. Let's wait

I didn't have braces for the surgery either and my front teeth were still very sensitive when I bit down on stuff for several months. If it's anything like mine, you should be seeing some relief from it pretty soon
