Considering SG

#1 Post by JT300 »

Hi there! New to the board. I'm considering getting a sliding genioplasty this summer and was looking for some advice from those who has undergone this procedure. I have small children at home and am wondering how I would cope with the recovery period. How many days of true "down time" did you have? Also, I see a lot of revision surgery posts and I'm wondering if many people have regretted their decision and why?

Thanks!!

All you're getting is a genio? I'm not sure anyone here had ONLY a genio done. Most of our recovery struggles were due to the jaw surgery. A plastic surgery forum might be a better resource for that. And most people's regrets seem to be related to post-op tooth show and permanent numbness. If you're only talking about getting a genio, these shouldn't be big concerns for you.
