Advice on how to tell if you brushed well with braces?

#1 Post by catteethidk »

I've had my braces six months now, and I've generally been told that I've been doing a great job when it comes to oral hygiene. But today... I went in for my adjustment and I was told my a hygienist I was doing a pretty bad job at cleaning my molars and that I had a lot of plaque buildup, (she gave me a 3/10!) which was sorta scary. I don't think I was doing anything that differently to how I normally clean them or slacking off particularly. Does anyone have any advice on how to get a better sense of how tell you're cleaning your teeth? Thank you and have a great day!

You can get some plaque disclosing tablets (or drops), or use the new Plaque HD toothpaste. Any one of these will help you to see where you're not brushing well. The disclosing tablets and drops might temporarily stain your o-rings, but the Plaque HD toothpaste won't.
