Mostly no.
Occasinally I think they don't look that bad, but that is rare!

Usually I just ignore them and expect that everyone else is ignoring them, too.

Yes for 2 reasons. One it is the first time my husband said I looked cute (his usually complement is 'you look nice' which is nice but I like cute better) The second reason is because they hide how my teeth really look.
I have found myself being less self concious of my smile now that my smile is 'under construction'.

actually I don't think my braces look that bad, my first reaction to them was oh, they kinda fit in with my face! But now I'm definately getting sick of them and while the braces aren't 'ugly', I think my soon-to-be-pearly whites will look much better!

I actually like the fact that with the braces my teeth will EVENTUALLY get straighter and prettier. BUt no I don't feel more attractive. It was funny, after having braces for almost a year and a half, my friend turns to me today and goes wow I didn't think you had braces. I think that it was because he just got braces so he started paying attention to people's smiles. But I thought that was kind of funny.

Actually, i LOVE my braces! I love how i look in them and i love to show them off! The whole reason i wanted them (not that i had a choice) was because i thought i would look good in them. I think they're awesome and kinda compliment my face. :D I don't know why, i guess i just like the way some people look in braces. most of the people i've seen on here and in real life look really good in braces! even if i can't see their whole face, i think caryca and jennielees are cool (probably beacuse i love the way ceramics look, even though i have metal!) :D also, bright pink ligs with ceramics look AWEOME!

Yes. Not in the traditional sense though. I think since I've gotten my braces, I've become more confident about what I want for myself in life, not just better teeth, and try to keep a positive attitude about stuff in general. It's like I don't have to hide anymore. I think people like that, and so it makes me more attractive.

Plus, I'm already just so bloody cute ya know?! What's a little braceface! :p

(oh, and let's not forget the cutely swelled head )

Well, kind of. They make me look so young, and I guess that's nice, but mostly I just wish my teeth would miraculously perfect themselves overnight and I could get the braces off, whiten my teeth, and have a beautiful smile.

Constantly being around wealthy physicians with perfect teeth is wearing on me, I guess.

I totally feel more attactive in my braces because my teeth are getting straighter and they look better than before! And of course my boyfriend tells me that I look adorable with them on. I guess it helps when he says things like that!

Well, yes and no.

Yes, because my teeth were HORRIBLE (just look at my avatar...that was right after the braces were put on...check my livejournal for newer pictures) before braces, but now, six months in, they're really starting to look nice and straight and pretty. I'm starting to feel more confident in myself due to the change in appearance and I no longer hide behind my hands when I smile...I open wide and blind people with my metalmouth!

No, because they make me look really young. I'm 23, and while I'm sure I'll love this fact when I'm older, I have a very young face. I got carded constantly before I got braces, but now it has just gotten rediculous. I can't even go to the movies without people carding me because I look like I'm under 17. I'm attracted to guys slightly older than myself, but most of them don't give me the time of day because I look like I could get them arrested. :-((

Really, I guess it just depends on the day and my mood...I'm such a girl...all tempermental and sensitive!

That's one of the things that I really can't stand about my braces is that they make me look really young....I'm kind of sick of it by now and I want people to take me for the age I am. It's kind of annoying sometimes, like the other day at work I was working with this kid who was a senior, and he was like 'oh, so you excited about starting high school next year?' For the record, this is my third year in high school. I was like WHAT?!?!?! Do I really look that young? I just want people to take me for my age:(

I thought I looked pretty good with braces...I agree with the 'younger' thing. I'm a freshman this year and nobody even questioned that fact until I got my braces off. Since then I've had like 10 people in my neighborhood ask me if I'm liking my senior year. I was like  :D I guess it would be nice to be older, but I think it's amazing how braces make peoples faces look so much younger, no matter their real age!

Great topic. I would say yes to the question. I do feel more attractive. In regards to the topic about braces making poeple look younger, my situation is quite the contrary. Getting rid of the gap between my front teeth i beleive has made me look a great deal more mature. Im 17 and some people have mistaken to someone who is already in Uni or someone who is 18,19,20 ish, despite the fact that i ahve braces on. Having that gap pre-braces to me made me look like a toddler or grade school kid's teeth who have not come together yet.

Having straight teeth now, and having ceramics, i dont feel as self conscious as i did before. my teeth are in a nice arch and im prooud to smile.
