Ya know whats wierd?? That national orthodontic month is october, the month that every single kid is going to rott there teeth out with tons of candy.. are they trying to tell us not to have candy? I'm 13 and sure i'm going to have candy. My orthodontist doesnt tell me anything about my progress. He keeps everything to himself, he doesn't even tell my grandmom (legal guardian) Do you think that that is wierd?
thanks,
Melissa

I agree with Karen. I think that a lot of kids and teens don't question what the ortho does, and many parents/guardians maybe don't know what questions to ask or don't quite understand the process since they aren't going through it themselves. I would ask questions if you have them.... if it makes you nervous you could either: tell the assistant your questions and mention that you want to talk to the ortho so he/she could kind of coordinate that with the ortho /or/ write down your questions if you think you might forget while you are talking to the ortho /or/ discuss ahead of time what you want to know with your grandmom and maybe then if she knows what to ask then she can ask for you and the ortho can answer your questions to both of you. I think it's good that you are interested in your progress. It's your teeth, you should know what's going on with them.
