Ok so I was 24 when this happened and I am ashamed! But I thought it would be OK (being an adult of course) to have one of those sticky toffee candys on a stick. Stuck it in my mouth and ended up pulling half my brace with it!
Soooo embarresed when my Orthodendist started giving me a lecture on what I should not eat!
Warning to all the younger ones (and adults!) your dentist really does know best!
Apart from when they drop a tool bit down the back of your throat that is!
(Dont worry my first ortho was awful!)
Just do not eat sticky candy!

Ha, thats funny, last time I visited my ortho, he tells me, "oh, nothigns broken" I asked if they were broken often, he said people often eat what they are told not to. LOL
I told him that having braces was really good for your overall diet since you cut so much sweets out. Anyway, dont feel bad, consider it a lesson, im sure you wont do it again.. or at least just suck on it next time.

The staff of my ortho's office always welcomes me with an ominous "Hi, is something broken?" as if they take it for granted.Guppie51 wrote:Ha, thats funny, last time I visited my ortho, he tells me, "oh, nothigns broken" I asked if they were broken often, he said people often eat what they are told not to.
I should call me lucky, I guess. I abandoned nothing, not even sticky toffee candies. But so far I never managed to damage my braces.
