By age 20, as my wisdom teeth grew in (which I was advised NOT to get out), 3 teeth on the left side of my mouth began to push in. Eventually, I had a crossbite. By age 21, I desperately wanted to fix this as one tooth in particular looked pretty bad from front on. It looked almost like I was missing a tooth. I would never have gotten normal braces and thankfully, I was a candidate for invisalign.
I started in June 2005 with 24 aligners. I wore each for 2 weeks, had some attachments, never had a revision, and never had a problem. Today, I have FULLY completed my invisalign treatment! I wore my last aligner for 6 weeks as my ortho wanted to make sure everything was settled in. Today, I got permanent wires across my front 6 top and bottoms.
I am attaching before and after pictures posted below. You can see the most drastic change is the 3 teeth that were taken out of a crossbite. The after pictures were taken before the attachments were taken off.
Ya, maybe my teeth aren't totally perfect, but I am completely and utterly thrilled. I love my smile again and do not have one single regret regarding invisalign. There are a lot of negative posts out there and I almost backed out after reading the bad press. Do not let it get to you, because Invisalign really can help - just look at my case.
