Pics from today:

My original post:
Since I have SUCH bad teeth right now I thought it would be interesting to keep track by taking pictures at every adjustment. I might turn this into a webpage later, but for now I'll just post here.

Here is 2 weeks before I got my braces on:

Interesting pics. 8) I've never seen those coils before. Are they pushing on your canines to make room?

Your smile will be transformed, I can vouch for that! :D Those 2 laterals will swiftly be brought in-line with your cuspids and central incisors. I notice that the ceramic brackets on your laterals have been engaged onto the coil and arch-wire.

Thanks everyone. The next update will be right after xmas.

Kristine - yeah the coils are pushing the canines over to give the laterals room to move forward. If you look at the top view you can see the laterals are partially behind my two front teeth. The first day I got my braces on the bracket on my one lateral kept popping off when it was attached to the archwire so the ortho decided to put those coils on.

Dodger - woohoo I can't wait! Yeah the laterals got tied to the archwire with some pieces of elastic yesterday when I went in for an emergency appointment (periodontist knocked a bracket loose). It was a bonus adjustment! :)

WOW, you have had a lot of movement. Looks like you are well on your way. I know how well those springs work, I had one on the top right side to do pretty much the same thing. I noticed some gaps, did you have any extractions? How long is your estimated treatment time?

Looking great!

Thanks! I had my top and bottom bicuspids extracted. My estimated treatment time is 2 years. Next adjustment is in only 4 weeks.

Wow, what a transformation!! I have to hand it to all you folks who had/have such "challenging pre-braces bites", I wonder how you all eat properly! I feel like such a whiner cuz my back teeth don't touch at all but when I look at photos of more challenging bites, I'm humbled. Kudos to all the talented orthodontists out there making such dramatic changes in people's lives! :-**

Haha. Well my teeth in the back all touched (at least they used to), but the front teeth completely covered the bottom row of teeth. I just have my mouth open in some of those pics so you can see all my teeth. Now since I got the braces my bite's getting a little weird in the back, but I unfortunatly still have no problem eating ;)

Great progress Catbutt - I bet there'll be even more movement noticed at your next adjustment. I was surprised with the movement I went through, within 3 months. :)
