I had horrible teeth when I got my braces on in February 2006; that includes two snaggleteeth that were way up in my gums and I am very pleased to say that they are withink alignment of the rest. Spaces are closed, teeth are straigt, underbite was fixed with turbo bites, *shudder*... and I was wondering what else is there to be fixed? I probably need elastics, as does everyone else in some point of their braces-period, but I still have about two years give or take a few months. What is usually treated during a braces treatment? (Not including retainers)
Ive already had turbo bites, and "a smile within my smile" (the wire was so bent it looked like my braces were smiling).
Difference?

Hmm that is interesting. I wonder how common those phases are followed. I supposedly have over a year - a year and a half left of my treatment. My ortho has started to close my gaps and the bottoms are almost closed. The tops have a little bit more space to close than the bottoms. He had told me by fall time, my teeth will look perfectly straight, etc, but will just be doing "detail" work - I assume fixing my bite, etc. I wonder if that is another step in the phases.

I've been in "details" for about 7 months now. I find it the most frustrating part of this whole thing. Tilt this tooth a hair that way, bend the wire at the mesial on #3, bump out the distal on upper #1, stronger elastics on the right... It is mm by mm adjustments all over the place and only one or two at a visit. It is SO SLOW!!!
I never had gaps, so I went I, II, III then details. The first 3 went pretty quickly for me.
I loved the beginning with all the teeth just racing into place, now it seems so close to finished but it's months away. Detailing sounded so exciting when it started, now it's a bore.
