Congratulations on the engagement nicholeuf!!

I will be getting married next June and will have my braces on. I've posted on other topics about this too. Like most people say, you can talk to your ortho about having the braces removed for the wedding. Or, you can talk to your photographer about editing your photos.

A friend of my sister's is our photographer and I told her about the braces. She said "No problem." I doubt I'd have money to get them temporarily removed. I don't care about our guests seeing me with braces, but I want our photos to have them edited out.

Congradulations on getting engaged!
I'm braced and engaged too!
I'm just gonna wait the 2 years to get married or I will get my Ortho to remove the braces for the day OR get the photographer to edit out the braces in the pics (which ever ONE IS CHEAPER)
If you're getting a professional photographer, have you thought about asking them to just edit out the braces?
It might just work! Unless it's too expensive - then I'd go with just removing the braces for the day or waiting until the braces come off!
Whatever you choose, good luck and have a great wedding!

Thank you everyone for all of your posts! So much good advice! Sorry I took so long to reply back. I feel like I have been in overdrive the last few weeks! I am so happy to see there are so many other people out there who have been or currently are in my same situation.

Update: I called my ortho the other day to see about his prices. His staff said he charges $650 to remove the whole set so I am assuming just the top set would be half that. I saw cmm1280 was quoted about the same amount so I guess it's pretty standard. I have ceramic uppers and metal lowers. My plan was to get whitening after my braces (since I'm an avid starbucks drinker) and I wish I could plan it out better so that I could have that done before the wedding too. I have my next appointment with him in October and the staff told me to talk to him about it in more detail.

I would really rather not have the braces on for the wedding. They are not very noticable on the teeth themselves but the ceramics make me have to smile kind of awkward (at least I think they do) since they are so large. I have spent my whole life being unhappy with my smile (though the crookedness was much worst than the braces!) and I want my wedding pictures to be free of that.

WeezieGirl25 - I see Dr. Feldman in his south tampa office. Do you see the same ortho?

Eleni - He proposed on the deck at sunset aboard a dinner cruise that runs through the channels of Tampa Bay. It was awesome! I was so surprised I couldn't speak! He told me we were going on the cruise to celebrate my birthday, but that was just a cover. :)

Thank you again! I'll keep everyone posted.
