Invisalign causing underbite?

#1 Post by dfremed »

My bite was perfect before i started, but ive noticed when i take the trays off to eat, i think i may be developing an underbite... anyone else have this problem?

also, as long as im posting, should i be worried if i dont feel any pushing/pain anymore? it just kinda feels like im wearing a mouthguard now. are they still working or have i stretched them out?

thanks.

do not worry about the feeling its well know u only feel tightness for about 3 days then after that easy going u kinda wanna have a set every week but most orthos stick to 10/14 days for reabsorption issues :)

I have heard of cases where Invisalign treatment can cause changes in the bite. You should talk to your orthodontist about it if you are concerned.
I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

Invisalign is an orthodontic tool that moves your teeth, so yes it can change your bite (why else would you have braces?). Are you developing an open bite? Or are you saying that your jaw is placed more forward since starting Invisalign?
