Just completed Invisalign

#1 Post by nvrsaynvr »

Well - my uppers are completed :D :D :D :D :D :D
Now my lowers - 5.5 months left.
Next weekend I start treatment on my upper molars. I have silver fillings and Im going to have them done all white (cant remember what it is called)
Found out my insurance will pay for it... yes!!!
1 more year and my mouth will be perfect.
My plans....
1. Get my upper fillings that are silver done in white.
2. Finish my Invisalign on lowers
3. Once lowers are completed - have laser whitening done
4. Have lower molar fillings that are silver done in white.

That way it looks like I have no fillings, straight WHITE teeth!
I CANT WAIT 1 more year.
I cant believe I have been on this message board for over 1 year posting all of my updates. Crazy!!

I don't mean to burst your bubble but I highly doubt that your insurance will cover 100% of the tooth colored fillings. If you have secondary decay under the amalgam then they will likely cover 80% of the cost and you will still have some sort of fee. Of course this is assuming you are below your yearly maximum payout (usually $1000-1500 per person for covered procedures). Compared to the price of Invisalign or whitening it won't be much money out of your pocket. But you will likely still have to pay something. And the material you are wanting is "composite".

Good Luck, hope you continue to be happy with all your work.

Regards,
Rory

I understand there will be a small amount of cost. Its $5.00 per tooth. (4 teeth on bottom and three on top) Insurance covers the rest. But because I have referred so many great patients to my dentist. He is not charging me for that cost. Also, he is giving my husband, my daughter and I a break for zoom whitening and only charging us $350.00 for all three of us!!!! :D (Oh - plus my hubby and I are taking him to sushi for a tip) :)
In my earlier postings, I was expecting to pay $100.00 per tooth for the composite - but then when the doctor checked my insurance out - they cover it!!! Except for $5.00 per tooth. Even if I did pay for $100 per tooth - that is okay with me. I just want healthy teeth and gums. And white of course.
My posting in the beginning of my treatment shows that I was expecting to pay at least $10,000.00 for my complete mouth to be done. Now I am only expecting to pay $7000.00 for my teeth. Sounds great to me!!! Thats a month mortgage payment I can apply to my house! <3000> :)

nvrsaynvr u do not know how lucky u r with the costs i bet i end up paying twice as much as u in rip off uk thats the reason so many people over here have crap teeth if the prices were the same here as in usa then condition of teeth over here would be much better :)

I totally agree with you Meryaten...
Im just very lucky that I have a great dentist that pics up some of my cost.
I think what Im paying (around $7000.00) is too much for Americans to pay for getting teeth fixed.
I understand that the composite and zoom white is "cosmetic" fixing, but my teeth really needed to be straightened because I was getting gum disease from the crowding and was actually losing my front lower teeth because of the receeding gums. Forgive me for not knowing the medical termimology of the conditions I had before braces. (Which I no longer have because Im able to floss correctly now and I am constantly brushing because of Invisalign)
If the dr wouldnt be picking up some of the "cost", my bill would be around $10,000.00. That is WAY too much for us to pay! At least that is my thought.
