Newbie question

#1 Post by calypso1 »

Hi, I'm new here and just got my invisalign braces on this morning. I guess I didn't expect it to be this painful! Any advice other that the advil I have already tried? Can't even imagine trying to sleep like this- Are adult teeth more sensitive to pain?
Thanks for any help you can send my way!

hello
I just recieved my firstsets yesterday too! I have to say I'm kinda jalous I don't feel hardly anything on the teeth at all. But my tounge is torn up! I hope it's still gonna work anyway. So I'm sorry to say I don't have an advice for you, but I think you are lucky that you feel it working, I'm actually kinda disapointed that I don't feel anything(except for extreme pain in my tounge) I wish you all the best and hope you are feeling much better today, did you get any sleep at all?!(I didn't because of my tounge)

Invisalign is a lot like regular braces -- it is moving the teeth. Anytime you do that, there will be some pain or discomfort involved.

Just because they are invisible doesn't mean you won't feel them!

Advil or Tylenol is good. After a few weeks it won't hurt as much.
