Ok the past days have been magnificant!!! :D I love my new smile even when its been two days. Every bod else that had seen it loved it too!! Ok let me tell you what happened.

I went to the beach yesterday right after I took my braces pics. When I first got into the water, it stung my gums a lil bit with the salt because the soreness of the gums from my braces but then I got used to it later on. P.S. KK I know you always tell me about the saltwater rinses, with the beach I had enough salt water rinses to feed me for the whole 2-2 1/2 years!! Then we had lunch  the worst part. I got an hamburger. The first bite was horrible!!!!! I was in soo much pain I thought I was going to die. I finished the burger, but in like an 1 1/2 time. Then we went back into the water and had some fun. I went to my cousins house and my aunt made some chicken. It was good but it took a long time to eat too. Now it was time to go to bed (2:00 a.m.) and I brushed my teeth which was ok. When I woke up this morning to eat breakfast. It wasn't that much pain and I ate faster. I brush and it didnt hurt at all. Now I'm up to date and about to eat stew with rice ( a nigerian specialty) G2g Bye!

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement!!!! I feel sooo much better and the pain is gone. Oh and the number wire I have is 18's on bottom and 19's on top I think. Or vice versa. But anyways I can eat about anything. And I see a little movement from my lowers already! My lowers front are kind of straightening out. Im trying to post a pic but it's kind of blurry so I have to wait till its really light outside. But I will post those later. My next appointment is on September 18th and hopefully I'll have powerchains because I really need them because I have soo many gaps you can run through them! Plus I really love the way powerchains look and I know alot of you guys who have them said that it's very painful the first night and next couple of days. Ok I have to go now because I want to brush the egg and waffles I made and ate like 30 min ago. P.s. It was curry eggs.

UPDATE 1 MONTH PICS!!

#21 Post by njdana »

Okay so it has been one month and its perfect. My teeth are moving which is good and my gap is closing which is good because school starts tomorrow. Also my bottom row is straightening up and my canine is coming down also my rotated tooth is coming straight. I can eat about anything and I have been brushing my teeth well. My gums are healthy and my teeth are looking whiter which is excellent.

I was supposed to go get a cleaning on Monday but when we went there the place was closed. I was sooo pissed but i thought to myself.."Maybe its because its labor day." But when I called the place today they said they wasnt open because they have a new owner and just changed everything so now my appointment is next monday. Also..I got new contacts since i always loose my glasses. I have clear, hazel, and purple ones!! They are soo kewl looking.

Well school starts tomorrow and everybody who hasnt seen my new braces (Which is alot) will see it and i hope they like it.
Anyways here are some pics.

Good news and more good news!

#22 Post by njdana »

I have some good news and some more good news. First off, I'm getting a cleaning at the dentist today at 11:00 a.m. I'm excited because I didnt have one yet with my braces on. Second, I'm going for my 1st adjustment on Tuesday!!! Yay I know it's going to be painful for the first few days but I can handle it. I will post pics after my cleaning. :D

And lastly, I got a letter from Washington, D.C. My mom read it first and her mouth was opened really wide so I dont know what was going on. Then the first sentence said, "Dami has been invited to travel and study in China for 3 weeks in 2007!! My mouth literally dropped. :yikes: Someone nominated me from my school!! I'm sooo excited. Then it also said I will be studying also in Austrailia for 2 months next summer!! I can't wait. I either been chosen by a teacher, an ambassador, or just national academic listing. I cant wait to go!!

I feel that next year will be a great year especially if I get accepted into boarding school for high school.

The first day of school was awsome. Everybody loved my braces and Alot of my friends I haven't seen also got braces over the summer. One of my friends are a day apart!! Well, g2g.

Hi Dami

What great news for you. What a fantastic experience you are going to have in China and Australia. You are very lucky.

Your teeth are looking great, they have moved so much. Good luck on Tuesday.

My youngest daughter is the same age as you and she has been in braces for since the end of August, she just has the bottom one at present, top one being fitted at the start of October. So far she hasn't had any problems.

Regards
Jone

good luck with your appt.... and about the student ambassadors thing, yes.. i no all about it. i got nominated when i was really young because my test scores were off the charts. the program tht i looked into a couple of years ago was unreasonable money wise... it was like 16 days for $4500.... heck i payed more for my two year orthodontics adventure. maybe its gotten better with the money situation but its still gonna be a lot. and it says u've been nominated in the letter, but u have to go to a meeting that like a TON of people attend and they tell you that you have to be accepted into the program and you have to do these interviews and all this krap... in my opinion.. save your money... u say u wanna do boarding school... same thing you stay away from home as it is to become an exchange student for a year.. and that is $6500 for a YEAR!! cheap! helps that it is a nonprofit organization.JUST THINK ABOUT... remember thats only my opinon!

Thanks for all you guys support!

Sports girl :? . There are scholarship programs for boarding school and also financial aid so it will cover me enough. I also know about the exchange program, I've been through that before so it's no big deal for me. I was in a boarding school in Nigeria when I was younger but got out since I moved to the U.S. So your opinion is not really factional since I've been through everything already. and boarding school is 30,000+ Thanks for it though..Plus the boarding schools im applying to is 1-5 hours away which is not bad at all.

Anyways...
I got the adjustment!! They didnt change anything but my two front teeth, the both next to them, and the canine which went down it looks like it wasn't even up in my gums before so I didnt get a color!! lol Im a little sore but its ok. my ortho said things are going well. I will post pics later Im just making everything in general because I just got home from school. ttyl.

Update! 3 MONTHS! Well more like 2 months and 3 weeks lol

#27 Post by njdana »

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. School's been hectic but I have been maintaing well on my braces. Things have been going well and haven't felt really any pain at all. I notice alot of changes and glad to see how my 2 years go. My next adjustment (2nd) will be tomrrow and hopefully they will change all of my ligatures because i wan't new colors. Possibly baby blue or navy. (O SEXY LOL  ) Nevertheless, I found something odd and suspicious. As my gap started to close, my gums that were between my teeth are going to the back. It's actually kind of painful because when I eat I think that my gums are pieces of food and chew on it. It starts to hurt really bad. I have some pics. Please tell me if its normal. I had a frenectomy (surgery to cut off my frenum) because of my frenum (Extra gum tissue) but I guess they didnt cut of the extra gum between my teeth. Enougth talking. Pics!!

Thanks all for your support. I got my frenectomy in about mid April and I got my braces August 3rd but gap started to close like 2 weeks after I got braces and the weird bump thingy started happening last week or so. I guess it's evening out though and not much pain as before. Well appointment is at 5:30pm so I have all day! No school (muslim holiday) just enjoying the day...
