if it is like the Waterpik then I know what you mean about water getting everywhere... The first day I used the waterpik ,this is what I did :
I filled the tank with water , held the tip to my teeth, smiled really wide and looked into the mirror. Very wrong! lol I got water everywhere! I was upset lol. Water all over the mirror, all over the counter and my shirt.
Then I tried again but this time I put the waterpik tip in my mouth and closed my mouth around it, I tilted myface down facing the sink. The waterpik worked great, I just guided the pik around each tooth . You don't need to look into a mirror to know which tooth you are spraying. Let the tip be your guide and keep your mouth closed. I have had no accidents since then.

Thanks guys, ok so keep my mouth closed, do you just keep the tip like a few mm away from your teeth??? I'll give it another try when I get home, havent got my braces yet so a good time to practice!

Yep, just almost touching your teeth and gumline, close your mouth almost all the way, then turn it on...don't look in the mirror, that seems to be when I splatter the most. Point your head down towards the sink and let the water just stream back out. I don't know what people with braces do that don't have waterpiks! They are amazing!
