Thanks everyone for your comments, yeah its really hard to believe when I look back at the photo's that my teeth have moved so much and I feel much more positive and confident.. I rarely put my hand to my mouth when I talk and hardly ever when I laugh...
My adjustment is on 20 December, I really do hope my lil tooth will join in and be braced up on the 20th... Nice Xmas present
I can't wait to get that staining sorted out, but the ortho says to be honest he really thinks I should leave it until I am virtually finished my treatment

I understand what you mean about the staining. Too of my front teeth had root canal treatment and now that my teeth are next to each other the difference in the colour can be seen more
. And I also have to wait to finish the treatment with whithening them
But never mind, straight teeth are the first!

Had a checkup with my dentist on Friday, he hasn't seen me since the brace was put on so I guessed it was time!
I have an issue with my lower right wisdom tooth. He says it really does have to be extracted, but there is no way he can do it under local anaesthetic.. This is going to cause me such a problem as I do not know where I stand with a general.. I was so ill last time nearly two years ago and has to stay in hospital for a few days just to get over the sickness... He said he will go away and have a think about it!
On the good side, he said my laterals on the top, the staining is in fact just staining, so doesn't think fillings will be required, he said my other teeth are in great shape.
I've booked myself in for the hygienist but that won't be until mid January as they are booked up until Christmas and since i'm having my adjustment on the 20th Dec I want to give me teeth a little time to settle down from any aching before I have them cleaned...

I is definately sideways he showed me the xray and its growing into the molar in front of it. Its partially erupted, so I guess I can only keep it in there for another year or so max without causing other damage and decay to it and the molar next to it. The Dentist said he would have to break it into several pieces in order to extract it, he thinks that it would be too much for me to cope with if I were awake... But, he said he will think about it and discuss it with my ortho..
When I walked in, the Dentist asked me If I had a date for the brace to come off yet, but that was before he saw my teeth properly and saw that the bottom row is being a little slow!! I'm still on the initial wire I had 8 months ago. When I go on the 20th I think I will ask the ortho what he intends to do, as I see little progress in 8 months with my bottom row, yet my top row really only has probably another 2 or 3 months left...
I'm sure he'll be open and honest with me! But I was hoping for a little more movement on the bottom than i've had
I know I can't have it all!! But I don't think i've seen many people on this forum who are on their first wire still at over 8 months, I know KK had her initial wires on for some time, but other than that it seems like the longest for me!

Ahhh.... My ortho must have read my mind! Got a new wire on the bottom row today and a spring to make room for the twisted toothy!!!
Its really quite painful at the moment, but I don't care. The ortho suggested that as it was Christmas maybe I would want to leave the spring and wire change, but there was NO WAY I was doing that!!
So, my lowers are in pain for the first time in several months. My uppers had nothing done other than a change of ligs
My next appointment is in just under a months time as the Ortho thinks by then I can have the bracket placed on the twisted tooth and then it can start its journey into the right place!!

Sorry to hear your lowers are in pain, but I think you made the right decision going ahead with the wire change and springs. Why delay treatment if you don't need to, right?

Well, bit of a painful night.. I feel sick but i'm not sure if its my teeth that are making me feel sick (lack of sleep etc.) or maybe i'm coming down with that nasty tummy bug thats circulating over here and in the UK at the moment.
Anyway just a report that the spring has already started working its magic!! there is a clear gap formed already, the springs truely are amazing!!

Yes i'm a great fan of Echinacea and use the drops if I start to feel bad.. I didn't think about them this time though, so thanks for reminding me!
I came hope from work today and i've slept for a few hours, i'm still feeling queezy but I really do think its my teeth to blame and nothing else.
