Hi everyone,

I just came back from my first adjustment. Nothing eventfull.
Just got a thicker wire. I asked my ortho to shave one of my teeth that was hitting a bracket, but instead he shaved the bracket.
Now I can really close my bite.
I got a .16 NiTi wire and I will be going back for my 2nd adj. on 12 feb.
I will post my pictures so you can compare for yourself if there are or aren't movements.....I think there are some movements. :?

Things are looking good Marvin!
Your wire looks straighter than before and the gaps look smaller already! I hope lots of positive changes come between now and February.

Good luck!

Hi everyone,

I just want to answer the questions of linda21, 8)

Heavier wire on both arches?
Yes I got a heavier wire on both arches, the ortho said to put some extra strenght so a few teeth will move for the next adjustment.

How does my bite feel?
Wonderfull, earlier I was always concious of hitting the bracket (chewing and my speech was a little uncomfortable).
Now he shaved the bracket I can still feel the bracket, but not enough to knock it off. So my chewing and speech is alot better this time. Very happy.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic time with their braces, cos I'm doing very well. Still no pain, no wax and no OTC meds. :D

Bye.....Marvin

Welcome Marvin!

And don't worry, your teeth will shift and you will no longer feel the bracket when you bite down.

I remember thinking I was going to knock one of mine off too (in the back), but within a few weeks I couldn't feel it at all.

Be Encouraged!

Looking better already Marvin! That's awesome that you've got a thicker wire on already. You should be really pleased. Looking forward to seeing your updates.

Hi everyone,

Time does really fly. I haven't posted anything since my 1st adj. I am very busy with work and this time here in Aruba is CARNAVAL time, so party everywhere.
I just came back from my 2nd adj. nothing happened really. The doc just put new o-rings, he left the same wire in, but told me that everything looks ok.
I will be back for my 3rd adj. in 4 weeks (12 march).

I will post my pictures so you can judge for yourself if there are any movements.

Wow, Marvin, great pics! I see movement for sure; your wires are really getting a lot straighter.

Enjoy Carnival - I wish I was there! It's an event I'd like to go to sometime during my life!
