#1 Post by Zameera »

Hi,
The name's Zameera. I'm 13 & will turn 14 this October 2007. I'll be getting braces this year, approx this month! Can't wait! I have narrow upper jaw, crossbite & crowded teeth. Does expander hurts?

Hi Zameera,
What a pretty sounding name. Is it your real name?

It has an magnifying glass next to the word "Search." There is so much information you will be busy learning from this site for quite a while, and probably won't have any surprises when you finally get your braces. I look forward to reading more about your experience.

Yes Expander hurts and you loose saliva onto you pillow when you sleep. :P You really will wonder why you couldn't wait for it once you have and wish it goes off asap ;)

But nice to see your not cursing braces, I hope you'll choose some nice colors for the ligatures to add some fun to a thing that usually don't is fun for most people. Have fun and keep us updated ;)

Thanx Onny!

I went to other ortho (since ours is TOO busy!) 3 weeks ago & she said she doesn't treat malloclusion with jaw problem (crossbites, openbites, underbites etc). She can correct my twin's (since she doesn't have jaw problem, only crowding) but she referred us to the other ortho accross the street and my dad kept calling the ortho but he doesn't answer the phone I believe! So, my dad decided to go back to our old ortho (he's my dad's friend). We're still waiting for their response!

I want to start asap because I have trouble smiling & stuff!! I have low self-confidence & esteem because of my teeth! I don't care how painful it'll take!

Doesn't treat malocclusion? That's what orthodontics is all about. Maybe doesn't treat the severity of your case, but did she actually say doesn't treat malocclusion? So does that mean she deals purely with cosmetic issues only? That seems odd... sure would give me confidence in them as an ortho!

Oops, my mistake! I mean she doesn't treat crossbites, overbites underbites etc. :D She only treats common crowding & spacing.
