Good Luck with getting your fillings and your lower B-Day will be here in no time!
Thanks, Ken! (Can I call you Ken? )
I am a huge baby when it comes to fillings so I'm a bit nervous, but excited that I'll finally have my lowers and the road is travelled that much further!
Nawers I couldn't cope with that ... it looks like it's gone pink. Geepers I'd have to pull it off and tie my teeth with twine ... anything, as long as it wasn't pink!
LOL!! :biglaf:
Fortunately KK, pink is my favorite color so it doesn't bug me too much. Although I did love that grape purple. Oh well, they'll be changed in a couple of weeks!

My current lower powerchain will have been on 18 weeks at my next adjustment
Wow! Good that it still works!

It finally happened, I knew it would. I lost a spacer today. It wasn't the big blue beast, the one I would have rather lost, but at least I get to spend the weekend with one less annoyance!

I had all my lower fillings today. And by all, I mean 6
OUCH
I was supposed to have each side worked on separately, but apparently the receptionist didn't understand this, so they had me booked to do the left upper and lowers. So I had to explain I didn't need uppers yet, that I am getting my lower braces in a little over a week, and they decided just to get them all done.
My jaw is killing me from being propped open without assistance for two hours, and the injection sites are very sore. The teeth themselves are also quite sensitive.
Hopefully this discomfort doesn't last long, but at least I'm ready for the lowers now!! :)

Yes, Linda, you're right. The soreness is attributed greatly to my jaw muscles. No breaks at all!!

Most of the pain seems to be centralized to the gums and teeth on the left. I called the dentist to find out why the hell it hurts so bad, and they said that the rubber dam they used (which I can't help but wonder if they used it to shield bad breath with lol) is clamped to the bottom of your teeth, so it will cause gum soreness and swelling. Also, they said they had to drill pretty deep due to the decay.
My bite also feels a bit off, like they didn't file down enough of the fillings. They kept checking and filing, checking and filing, and said it looked right, but it just doesn't feel right. And this of course makes me clench more than normal, so it doesn't help the sore jaw! I suppose I'll just wait a day or two to see how the pain gets!
Ok, done with my whine session. *Exuding positivity* :)

I just got back from having my lower arch done. Finally, I am fully braced!
Feeling some pressure, and my top teeth hit the bottom brackets still so my back teeth don't touch, but all in all it's not feeling too bad. Eating lunch was a chore, thankfully I chose spaghettios today. I will post pictures when I get home!

Thanks, Meryaten! Eating tonight was a bit difficult, it was impossible not to take very small bites. Everything still feels pretty good, though! I had them push down the cleats on them immediately to prevent the same tongue soreness caused from the top cleats.
I am SO stoked to see that the gap between my two front teeth has completely closed only since having my power chain replaced today, within a couple of hours...

Here is day one...

And here is today's!! Turquoise/blue and orange, my favorite so far!

The gap is gone!!!!

This one shows more of what the color blue really looks like, even though it's pretty blurry...

Hi Nawners,

Just finally had some time to check out a few fellow posties pages, and I have to agree that I see your uppers are responding really well to treatment!

Here's hoping your lowers are going to respond just as well, also! Looking forward to watching it happen. :)

I am happy to report that the gap between my left central and lateral incisors is now closed as well! The lateral has been really achy lately, and now I know why! I want to take the power chain off so I can actually fully see it.
Now I have roughly 3mm gaps between my canines and laterals, I'm hoping to get full chains with my next adjustment to start closing them up.

Thank you, JT, Linda and KK!!
It is so surreal to have so many changes in my mouth! It's making me all the more anxious for the end result.

Well, for the first time I am regretting my decision. I am thoroughly annoyed with these braces and wish I had never made this decision.
They seem to hurt all the time, especially my upper incisors and canines. I thought the pain was only for a few days after an adjustment, not a few weeks! I can hardly chew because my molars still don't touch, and I keep biting the inside of my lower lip because of the way it rests on the bottom braces. :-+
Then, I see how much my two oldest daughters need treatment....
My oldest has her right upper canine and lateral growing into the same space, and her upper left lateral is growing in sideways. My middle daughter has a terrible deep bite, leaving her a constant open sore behind her upper centrals. This makes me feel guilty for starting my treatment first! :-((
I hope these feelings of regret are normal, and I hope they pass! I try to stay focused on the positive but it's just not easy to do sometimes.
