PAIN, ANXIETY AND WHO KNOWS WAT ELSE IS INSTORE

#1 Post by Fabz »

Hi People

As i sit here typing in pain im just thinking of what the next 18 months will be like. Im almost 22 and taking the plunge to correct excess space between my front teeth

I got my spacers in yesterday and they werent too bad, but this morning ive gone to eat a sandwich not sliced bread a roll and i can tell you that i almost threw up from the massive headache ive got. Funny how these lil things are killing me its kinda like having 4 tooth aches.
And thats the least of my worries.
I start Univeristy this year in about a month and with braces!I have a different attitude to uni than high school i dont care about being popular but it woulda helped not to have this pressure heading into a place where i would want to have atleast a group of friends.
On top of that last night i got a girls number at a club and i know in a week when i get them shes gona bolt! haha
2 years of celebacy here i come

Fabz,
Dont get too down about it. I know about the headache the separator bands give you (had them Tue & Wed but they are gone now.. Fri)
Try eating some different things (noodles? sushi? pasta?)
You'll make friends with braces!
Won't make any difference to your dating activities, it might be an advantage!
Give your body some time to adjust and you'll be surprised how the current aches and pains will go away.
What lead you to get the braces anyhow?
Your young age will work as an advantage - the youger you are the better and more effective the treatment will be (generally speaking)
Once you're in uni I think you'll have other things to worry about (studies plus the huge new community of mates!)
Anyways welcome to the group, hope you enjoy yourself and pop us a message every once-a-while to say how you're going!!!
