I got a dark blue ortho care kit by G.U.M. It didn't have anything interesting, just the normal:

Travel ortho brush
sensitive toothbrush
rincinol sample
1 pack of wax (now I take as many flavors as I want from the rinsing station)
interdental brush
floss threaders
tiny sample of floss
toothbrush cover
and some coupons that I don't mind having around
instructions were watched and demonstrated there
some heads up on brackets falling off and wire issues
a xerox of No-No foods
and lastly, my next appointment date.

In exchange, I gave them 30% of my total ortho fee. no t-shirt :(

I know!! I didn't get anything too exciting unlike some of you folks. I can’t believe some people got electric toothbrushes and other novelties! But, I’m grateful for what I got, since there seems to be a few that barely got anything from their doctors. :(

I wouldn't have minded getting a new electric toothbrush considering the fact that I was paying straight out of pocket and no insurance or health services. Even if it was only a dispoable electric. Some new electric gadget would have been so awesome. A coffee mug or travel tumbler would have been cool too. The bite wafers would have helped me and I'm going to ask if they carry them in the office at my next adjustment. For the money I am paying, I should be getting cool prizes and stuf too! Hahaha but then again, he is quite experienced and I know I am getting quality care.

I got few of those little "christmas tree" brushes and that's it! But, that's probably because I made up my own kit the night before and had them take a look at it to make sure I got the right things.

Yes, I am a huge goody-goody who had her doctor check her homework. Once an apple-polisher always an apple-polisher I guess

Nothing wrong with that

MissDiana,
There is nothing wrong with being an apple polisher especially when it comes to oral hygiene.

I am sure your ortho was happy to see a patient take part in their care as so many don't.

Clearly everyone on here cares about their treatment and takes an active part in it.

The day I got my upper braces on, I got from my ortho:

1 travel toothbrush
1 anti-bacterial interdent brush
2 small envelopes with wax
2 different types of floss threader
1 trial size floss
1 regular size OralB toothbrush for braces
a couple of foil package toothpaste in different flavors
2 red tablets with instructions for use (disclosing tablets)
1 tiny trial size lip balm
3 packets of Advil
1 coupon for OralB manual toothbrush
little booklet about braces
sheet of paper with foods to avoid

and when I went to leave the office, I received a dozen long stem yellow and red roses!
