Braces - myths, truths, and things that could go either way

#1 Post by MissDiana »

Yesterday it was pouring down rain all day in the Philadelphia.

Yesterday my mouth was aching an unusual amount.

A friend of mine swears that these two are connected, claiming that it's similar to someone's knee aching when it rains. There is stress on the bone or it's swollen or something, therefore the bone will ache in damp weather.

Now, on the one hand, that is silly. On the other ... it sort of makes a little sense.

What goofy things have you heard since you go braces? What have you heard and thought "that can't possilbly be true, can it?"

The only thing I hear people say is that when they're finally removed your teeth look huge and your teeth feel slimy and you actually hate the feeling at first until you get used to it!

But my teeth ached all week so I am not sure if the rain was a part of it.

My husband said that whn he has braces he couldn't stand in front of the microwave. He said it made his teeth tingle...

I started laughing hysterically!! I just thought it was so funny!! However I haven't stood in front of the microwaave yet to find out if it is true!!
