Ready to move to invisalign??

#1 Post by Skylark »

Hiya,

I'm currently in ceramic braces on top to bring down a tooth that was too far up. I wanted invisalign for my whole treatment but was told I'd have to have ceramics to bring this one down. Anyway, after almost 6 months it's down and looking perfect. My ceramics are supposedly off in two weeks (yipee!) and then I switch to invisalign for final tweaking. My only problem is, on the other side I have a 1mm gap where he shaved a bit of my tooth to create room. This seems to be refusing to close although I've only had new powerchains on for a week so maybe I'm being impatient?

I'm just worried that they won't be able to come off in two weeks due to the gap (I have a good friend's wedding to go to that weekend and would really like them off!) Will invisaligns be able to close the gap if it is still there in two weeks? Or will I have to have the braces for longer? I really want them off but obviously I do want the gap closed too....

Thanks for any advice :)

I have an issue with crowding, so I can't say this from experience. But, I have heard that closing gaps is something that Invisalign does well and with good predicatability.
