Question about my Waterpik Ultra-has this happened to you?

#1 Post by metalchic »

Hi Everyone!! Yes, it's me--ol scaredy cat herself. I've made it 3.5 months with these braces and am FINALLY able to chew!! YAY! I've also just made it through my first adjustment just fine.

My question is about my Waterpik that I love dearly. First, my handle just started leaking for no apparent reason and I called Waterpik and they are sending me a new one. No questions.....Did this happen to you? They seemed very eager to send one out right away. Wondered if this was a "trend" of problems. Next, why do I have a funky/mildew smell/taste in the water? I dump out all the water after every use and rinse and dry the unit and attachments. Has this happened to you and if so, how did you fix the problem? It's not a huge problem, but I'd like to fix it !!! UGH...... :)

Thanks :)

Thanks! I hadn't thought of putting the tank through the dishwasher, DUH! I will try that and I will also try the other suggestion. The Waterpik book suggests a bleach/water mix but I am scared to do that as I don't want bleach going into anything that's going in my mouth at some point.
