new invisaligner! couple of questions...

#1 Post by heatherbug2416 »

i am a week into my 1st tray. i have 8 lower and 43 upper, and 7 buttons (ugh...). anyway, i was just wondering if it's normal for my trays to be... not so tight anymore? the first couple of days, they were extremely tight, and pretty hard to take off. now, they're still a snug fit, but they don't feel as tight when i put them back on. they don't make the snapping sound, either, as they did the first few days of putting them back on. is that normal? also, what's the best way to keep them clean? my ortho said not to use toothpaste, but the care manual that came with the invisalign says you can use a small amount of toothpaste on them. how does everyone keep them clean? thanks so much!

yep do not worry about the tight fit then snug or easy ft ist normal as for the cleaning the thing that i do is brush them in the morning with water running on them and brushing at same time because this is when they are full of white crap after sleeping with them in for 8 hours, then through the day just rinse them under tap and after 1 week just put them in with denture tab and brush under tap :)

Don't worry - they're supposed to fit real snug for the first 3 days (very difficult to get off!) and then fairly loose the rest of the time you wear each tray. Someone on this board suggested putting a new tray in at night before you go to bed, instead of when you visit the ortho, and that has worked terrific for me. I'm on tray 7 of 32.

I brush my teeth a few times a day and then dab a bit of toothpaste on the brush to clean the trays. Frequency of cleaning also depends on if I'm putting in a new tray soon or not - usually just rinsing works if it's at the end of the 2-week cycle;)
