New To Invisalign

#1 Post by Tinky »

Hi everybody!

I have an appointment to get my teeth filed down and my first set of aligners fit next week. I am quite excited to get my teeth finally sorted but a little bit nervous! Was wondering if anyone else has has their teeth filed/shaved? It it painful? and what actually happens on the day the orthodontist fits the first one? I'm worried about the pain and whether I will be able to talk the next day since I am a teacher and will have a class to teach.

Any information will be much appreciated! :?

Hello! It's nice to see someone else from the UK on here...even if it is up north :)

The filing down doesn't hurt at all and it doesn't take long either....so don't worry about it at all! And what my orthodontist did was just put the aligners in for me, I took them out just to see that I could (because sometimes they can be a pain to get off)...and that was it!

You'll be fine! Good luck x

Welcome to our world, LOL !!!! Dont be discouraged by your first 3 days of invisalign. It seems like everyone on here has said its taken them that long just to get used to having something in their mouth all the time. When the ortho put in my first tray i was like...........YIKES!.....but in about 10 minutes it was OK. You might have a slight lisp at first, but practicing talking at home will help you get over it quicker. What grade do you teach? It might be a great learning experience for them if anyone notices! Read through all the threads on here, there is lots of great advice. I'm loving my invisalign, day 7 of 3/12 and can already see changes. Make sure you see your clincheck....its very inspiring.

Thank you for your replies! :D

I feel a little better knowing what will happen on the day the first on is fitted. I have never had anything done to my teeth so always feel nervous when I go to the ortho as I know he is going to do something!

I have seen my clincheck, I was amazed! Can't wait unitl I get to the end and have amazing straight teeth!

Hey Snowqueen nothing wrong with the north im only 20 miles from there.
2 key rules though tinky, 1st put new set on at night before bed and 2nd never get closer than 1 foot when trays are in and speaking to someone unless u not bothered about being a secret
