Linguals and Oral sex
Moderator: bbsadmin
i havent tried it yet (oral sex that is) - oh and i'm a girl - but i really have been wondering about it. i really dont see how it really would create any sort of problem to be honest - considering you really should never allow your teeth to touch him anyway, right? i mean the lower linguals obviously w/b covered by the tongue???? like i said - havent experienced actually doing it yet but i must say i'm pretty good at it and i just really dont see how linguals would get in the way????? (fyi: i have "ibraces" and i think they are smaller than some linguals - all of the ones on the front stop short of being at the end of the tooth

a big no no!!
Look guys stop beating around the bush!! Its a big no no if you have linguals. I am sorry but it is true there is no way I would let anyone wearing linguals near my tackle. The only possible way is to paste loads of brace-eze all over them and hope for the best. Really you have to make a choice of you are gonna have linguals you really arent gonna be giving a guy oral sex for a while. My linguals are so sharp at the back where the wire pokes out that if i jam my finger on them they draw blood. Tried many solutions with my ortho (to improve tongue comfort i might add!!) but as the teeth move then so does the back of the wires. Brace-eze is the only solution to a very sore tongue and no doubt to a very sore willy!! Sorry to dissappoint you ladies and some gents out there, I wouldn't say all this if I didnt think it was true. Think hard before you get linguals if you are thinking about doing this...

London lad... Linguals (http://www.ormco.com/products/promotions/PDF/stb.pdf) on top and ceramics (http://www.gacmystique.com/) on bottom! UPDATE: now have ceramics on top too after gave up on linguals 18 months in!!!
Any success with linguals and sexual activity?
Hello, everyone,
This is my first post. It's a little embarrassing that my first post is about this topic, but it's actually an important topic to me. I am hoping to get my linguals in July, and I recently started dating someone this month whom I really, really like. He knows that I will be getting linguals, but I am concerned about not being able to perform oral sex. The past replies seem to indicate that it's not possible, but I'd really like to know:
Are there women here with lingual braces who have been able to perform it without hurting the man? How difficult is it? Do you have any advice? Or are you just not doing it until you are done with treatment?
I'd love to hear any honest replies, and I thank you so much in advance for your willingness to share your stories.

I think you could just wax up and be gentle. If I knew there was so much concern with nicking the dog, I should have gotten linguals just to keep the puppy in his cage! Not that I really have a problem with telling him no, regardless.

Haven't had a problem
I've been dating a guy for a couple of months and it hasn't been a problem at all. I have to be conscious of it and careful, of course, but I haven't used wax and nothing untoward has happened yet (fingers crossed)!
sex and linguals
After I put braces on my patients, I have no problem going home and having sex with my wife. Dr. Strassner
well im not 100% sure about lingual braces. but i have regular metal, speed braces. and for me and my boyfriend this has never been a problem. it affects you more than it affects him. it might be a little uncomfortable on your lips ( im pretty sure most girls tend to cover their teeth with their lips while doing this). unless your giving some kind of crazy oral sex involving teeth which i dont know about :S, then there shouldnt be a problem. teeth have nothing to do with oral sex anyway right? or at least i'd hope not.

Hi - I know this is a linguals only area but I am just beginnin my research as to what kind of braces I will want. I am 41 years old - was briefly married (horrible marriage, he ended up being an alcoholic and abusive) and have finally moved on with my life and met a WONDERFUL man!
Unfortunately I MUST get braces to correct a bad bite which is a result of bad TMJ splints I was given by an oral surgeon and probably just shifting and recrowding of teeth - had braces as a kid, pallate expander etc. But my bite now is off - left side uppers and lowers don't make contact, front teeth can't meet. My muscles in my jaw spasm due to bad bite.
Anyway - gotta do this and he understands but I want the best choice for me and for him! LOL
How is it kissing someone with braces? I assume linguals are easier then front braces? What about ceramic vs. metal on the outside?
Invisalign is not an option for me - heard to many negatives and I have been told I need something stronger to move my teeth anyway.
Thks!

Well no - I won't die without braces this is true. But it IS true that a very bad bite CAN indeed cause a lot of issues in the overall health of your teeth and your day to day comfort. My bad bite causes a lot of muscle spasms in my jaw, causes unbalanced stress on certain teeth because many others are out of occlusion etc. I also can't chew properly, can't eat a fair amount of foods, can't bite into things, and at times it affects my speech.
So personally, for me, YES I MUST get braces - I won't die without them but my current bite/teeth are affecting my quality of life and have been for a year and a half, so fixing them will make a huge difference.
Thks for info on other threads - will check them out.

Wow I cant believe people with non-lingual braces are still posting on this thread and contradicting what lingual users have to say. Don't you realise that people will use this to help them decide on braces? If you don't have llinguals don't comment they are totally different. I just feel a tad sorry for all those ladies that think great I can have invisible braces and then realise oh oops now I cant perform oral sex!! Let me explian for you girls again its NOT the brackets that will hurt its the wires at the back and the last bracket at the very back teeth! Its kinda like a fishing hook, put it in, ok, but now pull it out oooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
