I'm finally braced. I've been braced for about 2 weeks now... and i'm actually used to it. haven't had any major problems so far. just the getting used to it. I'm also in NY at school. YAY. people say they didn't even notice i had them because my mouth is so small anyway. so another YAY. only thing is.. they really don't hurt at all... i'm just afraid they aren't moving. but i really hope they are. I don't see any Big change at all... but hopefully I will soon!!!

Hey there Welcome to the messageboard. I've had my braces on for about two weeks too!
My teeth were a bit tender when eating/brushing in the first few days but now I don't feel anything. Sometimes I forget I even have them!
I know what you mean about worrying that no pain= no movement. I don't want my teeth to hurt but the tenderness in the first few days was kind of reassuring as I felt like it was 'proof' that something was happenind
I'm sure your teeth will already be moving little by little
Well done on your positive attitude and I look forward to following your progress!
Okay .. so it's been almost 4 weeks. It seems like time is moving by kind of slowly. But I'm guessing its because I want my teeth to see dramatic change right now. I know that won't happen. But I have noticed a little bit of change. I just can not wait till this stubborn right canine moves in alignment with the rest of my teeth. I've still been smiling with my mouth closed because of that tooth. but once it moves down, I will gladly smile with my mouth open.
One problem I'm having are these wires poking me on my left cheek. However, I've been puttin a ton of wax on it so it doesn't bother me during the day.
Okay picture time

Question: did anyone else have a stubborn canine tooth like mine ? How long before it came in alignment with the others ?
aww. thank you for all your positive feed back ! I'm very happy with the results so far. I can't wait to see how things will be like after my first adjustment.
Braces really aren't that bad. I mean after 2 weeks, you eat normally, and speak normally.
And although i have a lot alignment that needs to take place, its going slow enough that it doesn't hurt, but fast enough that I see noticeable results.
.. YAY for braces... probably one of the best decisions of my life.
okay so its now been about 12 weeks! YAY time goes by soooo fast. REALLY it does. I can't wait till a year goes by. Well my teeth have moved alot! I'm going to get my second adjustment on the 19 of november.
Wow Future your progress is amazing! Gives me hope for quick progress. I just got mine on 5 days ago and I have a stubborn incisor kind of like your canine so I hope I have as good a success as you. Way to go! [/b]
