Hi Renden,
Please give this some time before you start second-guessing the surgery outcome. You have to give the swelling time to go away. For me, it was two months before the swelling went away completely and I was able to see the real facial features.
If you are still unhappy in few weeks, worry about it then, but right now just focus on healing.

I can only echo (echo, echo) what everyone else has said - it's too soon after surgery for you to know what the final outcome will be. Most of the comedy post-surgical ballooning goes away after about 2 weeks, but there's still enough residual swelling to still not really have an accurate idea of what you will eventually look like.
We get used to our face being the way it is, and an overnight change can be a shock. It certainly has been to me - I spent all of Thursday night crying because with all the swelling, I've gone from weak-chinned overbite to a Desperate Dan underbite. Of course, I don't actually have an underbite at all, but compared to how it used to be.. it's a big change, and I don't like it. Yet. I imagine you feel the same way, just in the other direction.
Other things to bear in mind - the %&*$^& splint, that's a misery-maker right there.. drinking and speaking both get considerably easier when that %^^&^&* thing comes out. And the other thing is post-surgery comedown - virtually everybody gets it, and when tied in with not liking your reflection anymore, it means feeling really rather upset about everything and maybe even regretting having the surgery done. It will pass.

Eager to see your new pics, Renden ! I hope your swelling is decreasing and your true face shape is coming through now.
Elastics will be for some number of weeks. I just did a 'net search, looks like 4 weeks might be average. (Stress on 'might'.)

well i got elastics today, only two though, one on each side..and one to be put on as a box shape over my front teeth overnight..
One of my teeth which is being moved by the elastics hurts like hell at the moment, but apart from that the elastics are ok.
Bit of pain is good though, shows its moving.

Your going to look great once the swelling goes down. Sorry that you had to be so bored and hopefully I will have something to entertain me when I get mines done. Hope all went well through the surgery and I love the foam party pic lol very cute
