If you can come to Budapest, try also Timisoara (Romania) ... 300 KM from Budapest. There's a very good orthodontist there, who's certified in Invisalign. And our prices are way smaller than in the rest of the Europe ...

im guessing that theres a bigger % of americans on here than uk anyway can anyone beat this, saw hygienist today and got charged £65 (132.172 USD) for 15 mins and she wants to see me every 3 months until treatment is finished and I brush my teeth 4/5 times a day and drink mainly water go figure. Also bare in mind that im in the north and not the south which is supposed to be cheaper. Strange that america is the complete opposite, north more expensive than south

Invisalign

I live in the UK but started Invisalign treatment in Budapest a year ago. I am being charged 5000 euros versus £5000 for a course of about 30 aligners. By the time you've paid for flights and accommodation, you are not saving any money really but you will have had many great weekends in Budapest. I have many friends there so it makes sense for me but maybe not for everyone.

I have two big travel tips for anyone in the UK considering dental work in Budapest. The cheapest way to fly there is not Ryanair but Malev, the Hungarian national airline. If you book well in advance, you can get a return for £100-120 and they don't treat you like a convict. The best value accommodation in BP is short-let apartments, there are loads of agencies on the internet. Many of the apartments are in slightly grubby blocks, but they are central and the insides are usually high spec. In my opinion, one agency is by far the best, but that's a closely guarded secret - there are clues to follow on my blog though! Also, never pick a taxi on the street - you will get badly overcharged - phone for one. Most agencies have multilingual switchboards.

I'm afraid "Pirates of the Caribbean" is about as scary a film as I can watch nowadays, so no I haven't seen it. I have a friend from Bratislava who delighted in telling me all about it though. Don't let that put you off visiting Budapest - it's a blast.

I implied earlier that Ryanair fly London-Budapest. They don't, but my Malev tip still stands. http://www.skyscanner.net is a great resource for figuring out which low-cost airline flies where and for how much.

Clearstep

Try Clearstep - they seem much cheaper. I got my trays today and they fitted well etc. No complaints so far except their turn-around is a little slow for making the trays from moulds.

What? Prices vary a lot more than just being in the north/south. USA is too big and diverse to divide up that way, for sure. Or do you just mean the north and south of the east coast? Although I'm not even sure that would stand true...

ANYWAY... I would tend to agree with the bit Karen said about waiting until you can afford it. Unless you have the money to travel anyway, but then why would you be trying to save money? Doesn't make sense.

Go for clearstep! It seems to have good reviews and dentists can do it for the fraction of the price of an ortho! Be warned though if you need extractions have miss-matched centrelines or bite problems it probably won't be right for you.

A camden dentist does clearstep if you are in London too, he's called Dr Senghera at nwone healthcare on camden road.

Theres an orthodontist based in Soham, UK who only does invisalign so charges half the normal price as he gets a special deal. Look him up as you don't wanna be traveling round the world every month for something you can get at home cheaper!!
