Interesting comment about being a mouth breather=tarter... never thought of that, but I guess it makes sense. I'm a nose breather, including sleep time, but my cleaning regimen is fair at best, and I consume lots of staining drinks and food. So that's where I make up for breathing through my nose! I don't know that my insurance covers dental cleanings beyond every six months, so I'll just have to be careful. Lucky for you getting to go in more often! And your beau sounds so sweet... cute that he wants you around to take care of him. I hope all goes well with the wisdom extraction! Good luck.
Miss Smiley,
You are too funny. I have been reading your story and it has been very entertaining. You have really pretty teeth, BTW, and I notice our B-day was about the same. Mine was 5-30-07. I look forward to keeping up with your story & good luck with the extraction!

MommaDucky - Oh, I think I consume my share of tasty goods. I like ethnic foods and a sandwich just doesn't do me justice without tons of yellow and brown mustards. Anything "American" needs tabasco, mustard, or bbq sauce. Also, my insurance doesn't cover the extra cleanings but I'll ask the dentist, very nicely, to throw it in since he's my brother's friend. Teehee
I'm sure he won't mind, he's a nice guy plus it's just while I'm having ortho.
Andi - I never thought I was very entertaining. If you reading my stories, I think you would enjoy when I act out and add sounds to all of them. The mister is very familiar with this and sometimes, he just tells me to go to bed or hands me a cigarette (that means I'm too animated.) Thanks for telling me I have pretty teeth, I always thought they were on the larger, chicklet-ish side. I hope you visit more often. BTW where's your braces story?
Momma and Andi - I hope my extraction goes well too! Let's pray I don't have to suffer with dry socket!!!!!!! What will my smokes do while I'm out of sucking commission? Hm.... That sounded funny, but you guys understand right? Maybe I should get the patch......

Just got back from my cleaning. It was fairly quick, no blood, and just a little build up on my same lowers. Also, he managed to break the hook off one of my brackets, but it made my mouth feel so much better. I guess that was the culprit to my sore! I thought it was the molar tube but it was the hook on the bracket next to it the whole time! Relief for me, probably a problem for the ortho. He asked if I was using "the little brush that goes between your teeth and the braces" and I said "YUP!" In short, I don't need to go in more than every 6 months, he said the rest of my teeth and around the brackets were very clean! YAY!

Teeth that look like chicklets is a good thing! Don't I wish!
Mamma Ducky: Your photographs look like they are right out of a magazine. You are very talented.
Where is my Brace Story? Ummmm.....Well....you see....I don't have teeth that look like chicklets! I also have a narrow smile, an 8 mm overbite and a bit of chipping and uneven wear from overcrowding. Well, to be exact, the chip on my front tooth is from getting bumped while swigging from a beer bottle when I was 19 because the party was overcrowded, but the result was the same.
That, coupled with being extremely challenged technically has prevented me from being terribly inspired to get going on it. I have taken some photos which didn't turn out very well, so I did get started, but let's face it, bad photos of bad teeth? Hmmmm. Not as interesting as Mamma Ducky's or yours to be sure!
BTW, I mentioned to my DH how your Mister was willing to chew up your food for you just like a baby bird; it was so sweet. My DH kindly offered to do the same and then gently asked me if I would, 'prefer that on a plate, or would I rather he cack it directly into my esophogus'?
Sigh.

Good to hear your cleaning went well. I am BEYOND overdue for mine. I need to get in there.
Have you been to Disneyland yet for Halloweentime? I love how they've made Halloween a big deal. I was just there on Monday and was all giddy. Everyone was thoroughly annoyed with me on Haunted Mansion as I stood there reciting "Twas the nightmare before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was peaceful not even a mouse..." Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies so I get a kick out of it

Karen - Thank you for the hygeine tips, I stole a couple in your routine.
Plus your tale of gum disease scared me into being more vigilant with my gums.
Andi - White, yellow, brown, gappy, crowded, it doesn't matter share your story! That's what we're here for, you don't have to post your whole face, just show them ivories, chip and all! Didn't you see all of my restorations? I had to have a root canal on a central and then crowned because I was kicked in the face during cheer practice, I didn't think it damaged the tooth but it did. I was more worried about the YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE COME HERE YOU SHOULD GO TO THE COTTAGE DOROTHY! OH SUGAR BARBARA STANWYCK swoosh a team mate left on my forehead. Cheerleading is a dangerous sport! Your teeth may look not so great right now, but in the end we'll all acheive the same results! Liberate your teeth! In regards to the bird-style feeding, I
him for offering!!!
Princess Mel - Indeed, I have been to Disneyland's Halloween thing for 3 years. I love the set up and I love how they did the Haunted Mansion, I always try to count how many times I see Scary Teddy through out the ride. MISSY! You better get with it and go in for your cleaning!

Damned mister wisdom
Mister Wisdom comes out today. Luckily it's only one and it's partially crowning so it shouldn't be too hard. Then I'm off for my next adjustment Oct. 9th, hopefully they'll be able to engage the second molar with the addition of a molar band.

Miss Smiley!!! WASSSUPPPPP!! So jealous to hear about your cleaning.. I'm a nervous wreck for mine. I am imagining gasps of horror and shock. haha Luckily or not, my bf from school cleans my teeth and she knows I'm sensitive to comments on my funky teeth. haha
I've got all my Halloween stuff out and last night when I got home from picking up some burgers after my sweet girls dance.. I saw the neighbors.. had snuck out attempted to put up some Halloween decorations. their's our brighter then mine! I looked over at the wee one and said they think their house is more Halloweeny then ours. what do we do and she said let's do it, buy more! haha So we're headed in tomorrow for BIGGER, BETTER, BRIGHTER! haha I've got 2 big bowls of candy, that I can't eat, on my desk at the office. I'm sure all the parents are going to be loving me!!
Have a great day!

No candy for me! haha I'm on a medication high still. lol I am talking fast, typing fast, shaking my legs like crazy. I'm so much fun to be around right now. My kids even start giggling when they see me. haha
Not to mention I am super pumped because I have a gap you could drive a truck through on the side of my mouth. I'm constantly putting my tongue through it. haha Hubby told me last night to stop that I'm like people w/tongue piercings that keep rolling their ball around. lol I'm kind of "jicking" out a little bit from all these meds.. haha
Have a great weekend!!!

I had my Mister Wisdom pulled it wasn't bad, took all but a couple minutes. This time, I had him use a thinner suture because the last ones he used on my premolars were killer when they were "dissolving." Luckily they didn't have to break it and I got to keep it, roots intact! I hardly had any swelling, it isn't really noticeable to anyone, even myself. I had soft foods for the first 24 hours and then went back to fried chicken, chips, salads, the usuals.
Metalmom - I get you on the gap thing, I have 3 gaps left out of the 4 I started with. I still run my tongue in and out of the gaps, kind of like a measuring device. *sigh* Maybe that's why those gaps are taking so long to close. We should really stop harrassing the gaps. Let's shake on it!

Sounds like a plan to me! Of course as soon as I read that I immediately stuck my tongue in the gap. haha From here on out no more with that. Lord knows I dont want these gaps a day longer then I have to.
Congrats on the wisdom. I hope all goes well for you with the healing.
I'm counting down until Weds when I found out if I'm good to get rid of my expander! woo hoo!!
Have a great week!

Thank you for the well wishes on my wisdom tooth extraction! I am back to 100% Luckily no infection and very minimal pain. I think the day of braces was 10 times harder than this extraction. I have to say that the premolar extraction were also worse. Any how, I just wanted to thank everyone again for sending me good thoughts and I will be updating sometime next week on my 6th formal adjustment.

In checking up on you, I'm glad the tooth had the wisdom to not be a pain. Man that line is so badddddd.
Seriously we seem to have the same wit. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger.
Have a great one and keep on smiling.
