I have two top front teeth that are very crooked. They "butterfly out" because they are sort of triangular shaped and too big for my mouth. Anyway, I got braced last August to straighten them. The ortho said 12-15 months in braces (metal on bottom, ceramic on top). Here we are 14 month later, and although they've straightened some, they are still visibly crooked. At my last appt. he said it looks like December now (16 mos) but I really can't imagine them straightening by then. He put on a tighter wire on the top two teeth and I do feel more pressure but I've never really felt alot of pain with any adjustments.
I am trying to be patient and if it takes a few more months I will deal with it, but I am just wondering if he is just telling me they will be off in December, when he knows it will take longer? Is it possible for teeth to move quickly in a short amount of time? Just curious.
Thanks kk. He has been doing IPR on me for the past several adjustments. I guess I just thought it would be more gradual and not like a "crunch time movement" sort of thing. He seems irritable whenever I ask about it so I'm trying not to ask too much more about it and just try to trust him.
