Introducing H.a.H.

#1 Post by Hero_At_Heart »

Hello There!

I'm really, really glad I found this website. I am soon to be graced with a mouth full o' brace and was somewhat nervous about it - found this site (YaY internet search engines) and have been reading some before registering.

Getting spacers next week, top set on two weeks later and then my bottom braces about 2 months after the top ones go on. (Is this normal - I mean do they drag it out like that for some reason instead of just slappin' them all in at once and getting it over with?)

Top should "only" take 9ish months but bottoms, I'm told will be on for about 19 months - give or take.

I am one of those folkes that loves to ask questions so bare with me and forgive me for being a total n00b. Being a 36 year old guy in braces...eh...this is gonna be .....interesting to say the least.

Cheers!

Hi and welcom HaH. Sometimes the orthodontists put either the uppers or lowers on first, because when closing the mouth, the teeth could hit the other set of backets and break them off.

I have to get spacers put on three molars next week myself. I have gold crowns, which they are not adhereing to very well. Lost two brackets already, so decided to bite the bullet and just get the remain three banded. (Had one put on about a month ago).

Good luck on your journey.
