Thank You clare80, Ouch and Miss Smiley for the great advice and encouragement.

It's been a week today!!! Can't believe, it's actually quite OK to get used to.
I strongly believe and feel that I have a bad lisp, but NOBODY notices that I have braces on.... WhooWhoo :)
Clare, I got the waterpik on day2 and loving it! (OK, first time use the entire bathroom was splashed, mirror, shower door, towels... but it's all under control now  )

Wanted to ask what should be expected when the lowers go on (in 2 weeks for me... ), I'm most worried about the lisp, actually I didn't find the pain unbearable at all; never used wax (tried it on the first day, it got stuck to/around the wires and it was more annoying to me, than helpful, so never got it out again. Did have to get some boo-boo ointment for my tongue for 2 days, but overall it's really fine)

Ouch, my ortho said the adjustments will be at about every 7-8 weeks, so sounds normal to me, too.

Just a quick update to keep records up. Third adjustment on Friday, went froma small wire to what sems like a big lump of corrugated iron that Popeye couldn't bend!

Anyway the normal weekend of careful chewing and Nurofen and all is well again now, everyone notices difference now and this really has been a great thing to do and dare I say it a breeze so far.

Great to hear from you, langers, and that everything is going well. Popeye will have to eat more spinach.

I have had mine on for 2 weeks and they are great. It is just the first say 6-7 days that are the worst. So glad my speech is better and pretty much normal because I think people started to see that something was different with my speech and diet. My diet thankfully is back to normal and enjoying eating solid foods again. It just takes me a little bit longer to eat through tough stuff like beef and steak other than that it is all good  I have had a fair bit of movement in my front teeth. Not really making a gap just one tooth being moved further out than the other :S

Take care when flossing at the back - my finger got snagged on the back of a steel wire a few times and the contact drew blood!

Wow, that's fantastic!

When you say aligners, are they still finishing the job, or are they retainers?

Invisalign I think he called it......Its great to be honest, invisible and you switch once a week, yep still a few gaps to close and things to move but at least the metal has gone.

I had my first adjustment appointment Saturday. I had no clue either! I trust my Ortho 200% so I knew it would be nothing terrible...he's very gentle :) He removed the rubber bands and the old wire, placed a stiffer wire in the brackets and put on 2 powerchains to do some serious pulling. They are just rubberbands on steroids...the name sounds scarier than they really are :) Sunday was the first day I felt any soreness with Linguals. I only felt it when I bit down hard and it was no were near "painful". Just kinda like "ooh, oh, there they are!" But by Wednesday all soreness was gone. Though one of the my powerchains broke the day after I got it on, so I'm going back this Saturday to have it replaced.
