Refinements are here ... and more aligners

#1 Post by fabfemme »

FINALLY saw the doc today...got the refinements back.

Seems that the reason it took so long is b/c she consulted with a few other docs and sent them back to clincheck a few times - whateves, somebody coulda called me!!!

Original Plan:
U: 13 (finished to 13)
L: 19 (got up to 13 before they stopped fitting)
1 button on lower left side

Revised Plan:
U: 10 more (for a total of 23)
L: 10 more (for a total of 23)
3 additional buttons (for a total of four) with one on front canine (slightly visible - boo!)

So, it sounds like my plan is *only* extended five more months. BUT, I wouldn't be surprised if more time/aligners are added on.

UGH :? & YEAH :)

Hi,

I can feel with you.

I have U9 and L14. I'm now at Aligner 8 and my Upper Teeth are not really straight. My ortho said, we can do a refinement. And I hope it will work. I dont mind having a few more trays (just wanna have straight teeth), I hope I do not need to pay more for that???

Hi, michelle88. I can only speculate--you should ask your ortho why the wait. I'm in metal brackets, but I do know that my ortho needs to get my bottom teeth in their final position before he can fine-tune my uppers, in terms of aligning the bite. Maybe this is what's going on in your case?
