Extraction gaps almost closed. How long left?

Hi,

My teeth are aligned and my gaps are pretty much closed

My question is really how long was it for you between your gaps closing and when you got your braces off?

Elo,

I had four extractions prior to my braces and ive found that even though the majority of my extraction gaps had almost fully closed completely at the 6 month mark, the ortho still had alot of work to do on straightening my teeth. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that orthos work in different ways, with some orthos choosing to allign the teeth before working on closing the gaps towards the end of treatment. Although, my ortho has been working on closing the extraction gaps whilst at the same time straightening my teeth, so it was a two way process.

Best person to ask would be your ortho as he/she is the only person that knows your individual brace plan.

Mr ortho worked on both my teeth straightning and closing my gaps, I still have a slight gap on one side but I have a feeling it's going to be a jerk and not close so I think my ortho is going to have to pull some kind of trick out of his sleeves to close it... Other then that I have a feeling that my braces will be removed here shortly....

I have an appointment Tuesday so I will ask and get details about the possible braces removeal and let you know..
