Hmm. I posted yesterday, but I'm not sure if my post "took," since I can't find it!
I'm a 41 y/o female. I just got Invisalign a couple days ago. I love how invisible they really are!
Background: I initially decided to go with Invisalign because I have a very minor bit of crowding in my front teeth. It's barely noticeable (people can't see it, really, but it's worsening), and I wanted my two front teeth to be side-by-side, not crossed over.
when I went for my consultation, my ortho pointed out that i also have an anterior bite (my teeth are very straight, but top/bottom don't meet). he said he could correct that with braces on the bottom and Invisalign on the top. But that they would have to put those attachments on my top teeth so the liners could "grip" and pull down to help my top teeth meet my bottom.
WHen he sent me the graphic of my treatment, I was horrified: those "bumps" go across all my top front 6 teeth. I decided this was defeating the purpose of the INVISIBLE part, and figured I'd just go with what I initially wanted. He said that was fine.
WHen I went for my first liners the other day, he informed that they were putting those bumps on in a month (3 liners from now). I was dumbfounded. He really didn't make it sound like a compelling reason.
Is it possible that he already pre-ordered the 18 liners (9 month process), and that it's a big deal for him to change the order for the next 16?? I'm really annoyed. I let him talk me into trying them, but have since decided I'm not going to bother. what is the purpose??
Attachments/Are all trays "preordered" by Ortho?
