Electronic Toothbrushes

#1 Post by aussiebraceface »

I am looking to buy a electric toothbrush as so many people here have said how great they are, and I was wondering is there much difference between the $30 and the $200. Or do you get what you pay for?

What is the best type for braces? (Sonic, or Whitening etc)

If you want to give it a try, the Oral-B Vitality is a great brush for the price ($18 or so US, and I'm assuming comparable elsewhere). It takes all the "fancy" Oral-B heads, including their special orthodontic heads.

Then if you love it and want to upgrade, the Triumph takes the same heads but has more features, like a "sensitive" and "polish" setting, slightly higher RPM, and a pressure sensor that lets you know if you're pushing down too hard. You can keep the Vitality as a spare, or for travel. That's what I did.

Once you go to an electric brush, though, you won't go back. ;)

Thanks that helps! It is good to know that all the brush heads fit on the different types of toothbrushes. (for Oral B)

I LOOOOVE my Oral-B Triumph Electric toothbrush. I bought the "2 for 1" handles deal. While one handle is charging on my bathroom bench, the other is in its blue plastic travel case in my handbag, ready for when I have a business lunch. 8) (Along with the mouthwash and Oral-B Interdental stuff)

I have found "The Shaver Shop" is the cheapest outlet to buy the Oral-B "Flexi-Soft" replacement toothbrush heads.

Hopes this helps you.

I bought the Oral B Triumph which is great since it has 3 settings on it so when my teeth are sore I can use the gentle setting on it. Find it really useful for cleaning linguals. I haven't seen any ortho attachments for using with this product though.
