I showed up for what I expected to be another wire change on January 17th and got the surprise of my life ... I was de-braced! I wasn't even expecting it for another two months!

How's THAT for a surprise?!

Anyway, here are some before and after pics ... just for fun.

(Note: I'm wearing retainers in both "after" pics, hence the shiny teeth!)

Congratulations!!! You got them off on my 1/2 birthday!!!

Thankyou for posting pics of retainers, as when I get mine off on 11 Feb (YIPPIE), ortho will take moulds and make retainers for me in his surgery. That's what they look like...hmmm....

Is it odd that I was told to wear my retainers 24-7 for only 2 weeks (and after that at night only)?

Some orthos do this; mine told me to wear my retainers nights only from the time I was de-banded. Pay attention to any movement you have when you cut back to nights only and consult your ortho about wearing them more. For me, my retainers feel a little tight when they go in, and then feel fine less than five minutes later.
