GUM Go Betweens

I have recently purchased GUM Go Betweens Angle Cleaners NOT the wood picks. I like them. The only thing is that if you prefer a bigger brush then these aren't for you. The brush part is ultra-thin. I use these as proxy brushes. Anyone else use them? Here's the link.

Oooh these look pretty cool.
I have VERY tight teeth and struggle with the stiff ended floss let alone those nasty floss threaders - tried one the other day which resulted in much blood when I got to the looped bit. Ouch.

I've got some of the Oral B Superfloss and I don't mind it. Though it is still difficult to get into some places.

Thanks for the suggestion of only using the threader to get past the wire Meryaten - I'm such a noob!

I was given some plasticy ones by my ortho which are quite thick and stiff.

I have been using the proxy brush thingie since I first got my braces and I could not live without it at times. I have lots of crowding and they are my lifesavers.

I also swear by Oral-B Super floss! This has been my miracle cure for flossing. The floss threaders made me drool everywhere and it was just too nasty for my tolerance. The super floss is a little pricy, but it is so worth the lack of hassle. I use 2 per flossing session and it gets all the nasty junk out, but I do tend to shred the stuff in my brackets and that drives me crazy sometimes... but I have had more success with that floss than traditional floss and the threaders.

Does the OralB Superfloss work well with crowded teeth? I am currently using OralB Satin Floss.

I hated these when I first got braces, now I can't live without them! I have composite bonding done on two on top --- this is the only way I can get between them after eating without having to completely floss. I adore these things!!

I love Oral B Superfloss! It's worth the extra money to not have to hassle with the threaders. It shaves several minutes off my flossing time, and to me that's a good deal. Yes, the "fuzzy" part of the floss gets tangled in the brackets sometimes, but after a while you get used to it and it doesn't happen that often. I do wish I could find it with waxed floss on the "non-fuzzy" end, though.

I've found (by fluke really) that when I'm in a rush the GUM Softpicks are great for my molars not nearly as messy as flossing. Anyone else tried them?

I love the go-betweens too. They will be great for dinner outings when you just have an evening purse and don't want to take your whole dental cleaning kit.

I use the go-betweens for removing pieces of food from between brackets. I have a Reach brand interprox brush with a long handle. I use it after brushing to go around the brackets on my front teeth and loosen/pick up anything my toothbrush missed. My teeth are to tight to actually use it to clean interproximal areas. I've also heard that it can open up gaps if used interproximally on the front teeth.

I've never used Oral-B superfloss, but I swear by the Glide threader floss. It's flat which is much kinder to my gums...I tried using the floss threader and regular waxed floss when I ran out of my last pack, and I bled quite a bit and it was a bit painful. That being said, I DID read somewhere that round floss supposedly gets out more plaque and other stuff better than flat. However, I think I'm doing a decent enough job flossing that I can justify going with the flat instead of the round.

Oh, and another point I wanted to make but forgot...there is no 'fuzzy' anything at all on the glide floss. It's just smooth...maybe you Oral-B'ers who don't like the fuzzy part would want to give glide a try?? I find that my floss does NOT shred...at all.
