Lingual Braces in London
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting lingual braces fitted somewhere in London.
Does anyone have any experience of orthodontists around here?
Any good/bad experiences or ideas about prices?
Thanks.

Try: Barbican Orthodontics
They do Linguals (incognito) braces which are super.
I wear linguals on the top and ceramics on the bottom. Linguals are great, no problems with speech after two weeks. However, with linguals you have to be careful on how you eat your food cause the elastic bands do easily come off when chewing food.
Price: cost me £4k, linguals on top and ceramics on bottom. (retainers included too)
private and NHS offered, plus Saturday viewing so you do not need to take time off work...

I'm only 17 days in but I'm pretty confident in my orthodontist. He is very enthusiastic about linguals and works at a few different practices. I paid £5000 for top and bottom STb's.

I can't help but be confused with the differing prices mentioned and I see that the thread is still recent. I got quoted £6000 yesterday for incognito top & bottom but because of the cost have decided to go for InVu ceramics instead at a cost of £3300 but now I think it may be possible to get Incognito done cheaper.
What do I do? Do I find new Ortho, maybe the ones mentioned in here, or do you think my Ortho could do it cheaper?
Incognito would be PERFECT because of my job and I am even prepared to put up with the discomfort mentioned in here.

Hi
Incongito is more expensive than some other lingual system, and the price has increased recently. One key factor in this is the price of the Euro vs the pound which went up dramatically earlier this year. Incognito comes from Germany so your ortho has to pay the lab fees in Euros, (this was approx £1000 for me with upper linguals alone pre hike in Euro). Another factor is the price of gold which incognito is made of, I believe it went up earlier in the year, but I 'm not sure what it is now.
Currently sTB lingual brackets are considerably less expensive. The advantages of incognito, comfort and efficency cf other brands. For me the compromise was Incognito on top with ceramic on bottom (ceramic approx £1500).
I hope this helps. Good luck
