Oh come on now! Take some Tylenol that morning, have a margarita afterwards...you won't care about a thing! HEHE

I think the biggest thing that helped me besides the Tylenol, was that I chewed sugarless gum the entire day, it did start to hurt a bit, but I just kept on chewing gum, I think it really really helped

Yep, I'm planning to dope myself up with meds beforehand but I think I'll have to pass on the margarita - at least until AFTER work!

I'm getting braced at 10:30 am and planning to head straight back to work. But I definitely think I'll be having a margarita, or some sort of alcoholic drink(s), at 5:10 when I get home!

REALLY?? Chewed gum? With braces? The first day? Is that really legit? Or can the braces cop arrest you for that?

I HATE chewing gum. I can't imagine chewing it with braces! Any other suggestions?

My ortho told me to chew sugarless gum, the more I could chew, the better it would be.

They give you a little wafer to chew on, but it didn't appeal to me nearly as much as the gum

But if you don't like chewing gum, bite down on the wafer and it will help. It might hurt a bit, but everyone told me to chew, it works out the soreness

Well I am on week three I think? I have already lost track of time how long I have had them...(glad I have my ticker! HEHE).

My archwire popped out of my back bracket last night, I had to drive 1.5 hours round trip to the ortho for a 3 second fix....how annoying!

No idea how that happened...oh well.

Went to any dog show (agility trials) and I figured out that I will NOT brush my teeth after a meal when the only option is to brush it in a bathroom that smells like YUCK and there are 70 people lined up to use it 24/7...the people is not what bothered me, it was the SMELL of that bathroom.....gag. So I used mouthwash as much as I could...what a pain!

I am not noticing any of my teeth moving other than when I floss..I really hope I see changes soon, I do not have much patience!

I don't have to use any wax, which is a good thing....I am settling into braces I guess, I still don't really LIKE them, but I don't notice them as much anymore

I can't wait for some actual movement I can SEE to happen!!!!

Yes adjusting to braces--although I have been having dreams that I wake up and one of my teeth is brown and has died....LMAO!!

I don't know, but it is super icky

I think I am just going to have to deal with the fact that when I am at places like that, swishing with mouthwash is going to have to be enough!

I am really good all the rest of the time, brush after every meal and flossing every night....so I hope that is enough!

Well it has been 3 weeks basically since my braces went on. All is good

I haven't had much pain until now...I went in on Monday because my archwire came out of my back bracket.....they replaced it, the ortho looked at my mouth and said "Well..I think we are going to change how you wear your elastics a bit"

So he had me put them up and all the way around the bracket, which before i was just hooking them on the bottom hook of the bracket. He said they are moving nicely (I can't see ANY movement, and trust me I have been looking!!!)......I will take 1 month pics next Thurs and see if anyone can tell......I can't, I wish I could though!!!!

Anyway, I thought nothing of it, what is a tiny mm of extra tension going to do?......

OUCH! My bottom teeth are killing me! Sensitive, I have a headache, can't bite into anything...ouch! Tylenol is my best friend and I am trying to chew as much as I can stand it....it does help..but holy buckets does it hurt!

So I guess I can now say for sure things are happening

I will be happy when I can SEE things happening!

Ok, so it is not EXACTLY one month, however I will be gone all of this week, so I doubt I will get any put up after today

I got my braces on the 7th of February, and I am surprised how quickly this time as gone by..which is great.

All is going well, I can't see much happening, but the ortho assures me things are happening

I go in for my first adjustment the end of March.

Here are some pics....on the left, brace day, on the right, pictures from today.

I can't see any differences, but maybe you all can! Just click on the picture and you can see a bigger version to compare

Honestly I can't see any difference neither but that doesn't mean there hasn't been any progress. Gotta trust in your ortho!
