Fine horizontal lines in aligners
I just received my aligners, and have noticed that there are fine, horizontal lines, (like a topographic map would have to mark the contours) on the aligners. I am guessing that these lines are actually the "map" of the contours developed from the 3-D image of the teeth. I have 4 sets in my possession (only on the first, but the others are visable through the packaging) and I can see that this is on all of them. If I look at the aligners (when they are on my teeth) in a mirror with magnification, I can see the lines, but I don't think they are visable to others when I am talking. Has anyone else noticed this? I didn't know if it is a new process Invisalign is using (possibly for strength?) or if I have defective aligners.

Those lines are normal. I have seen pictures on flickr from years ago of the aligners and they had the lines on them as well, so I think they have always had them on there. Trust me, no one can see the lines. If you can only see them with magnification and I am guessing really good light, people in regular conditions won't see the aligners themselves- let alone the tiny lines on them.
Congrats on getting your aligners! You must be so exited to be starting
