I realized this afternoon that my bite was off more than normal so I checked the mirror and realized my molar build-up (blue cement) on the left side was gone. I must have swallowed it because I never felt it come loose.
Have an appt on Friday morning to have it fixed. I wish they'd just do away with them.
Once you have build-ups are you typically stuck with them the entire time you're braced?
I accidentally swallowed it

Oh, no! usually they are used to open your bite and avoid you to bitting your lower brackets so when your bite has changed enough they will take them off! I've got mines for several months now, but I've been told that they would come off soon!
It was crazy at the beggining for me, I just couldn't chew at all! then, god knows how, you kinda get used to everything so there we are...
good luck with them!

I had mine taken off within about 3 weeks of treatment. They were sooooo annoying and my bite changed enough to have them taken off I had them filed down and I think they are mostly off. They were put on to keep me from biting off my brackets.
Don't worry, they will come off as soon as your bite fixes itself enough! I know they are bothersome, as I could not bite correctly and it was terrible trying to learn to eat with them on.
