Well it is about 6days until my 2nd attempt at the herbst appliance. I am getting sort of ancy about the whole thing. I just got a call from one of my elementary school friends and they are throwing our other friend a suprise b-day party on the 29th (1 day after herbst!) It is in southern california and I looked at flights and I can fly for about $50! My boyfriend of 4 years wont like the idea but I am thinking about telling him that I am going wether he likes it or not because I want to see my friends!

What do you all think? Should I go? I hardly ever get to see them because they are in college down there and I work 3 jobs up in Norther Cali. Please let me know my fellow bracefaces!

Thanks a bunch

Katie,

I'd definitely go if you feel up to it! Like you said, you hardly get to see them, and this sounds like a great opportunity. Good luck with everything next week and hope all is well.

well why not? :D It sounds like just the thing. And if you can't talk very well with the Herbst, you can put it down to having too many beers!

Well only 3 hours until my herbst appliance is getting installed. (hopefully at least) :? I am getting very nervous, anxious and excited. I had a very big breakfest with lots of crunchy and sticky things becasue I know I am going to have to avoid them come 2:00 this afternoon! Well wish me luck and I will post pics tomorrow. Thanks for the support!

Well, it went O.K. No real problems getting it in. It dosen't really hurt that much but my mouth doesn't close all the way to eat...so it is smoothies for me for a while! I would describe the feeling as weird and irritating, because my jaw keeps wanting to move back and it can't. I kept waking up with my mouth open last night because it is the only way for my jaw to rest back a little, if my mouth is completley open. Well I will talk more later.

now they're so tiny I can hardly see them LOL

It looks pretty discreet. I thought it would be more visible than that. Let's hope you soon get back to feeling comfortable and that it soon does the job.
